I did it! I finally put procrastination by the wayside successfully ordered the items I needed during the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! My focus this year was purchasing “fall basics”; those staple items that can be worn 5 times a week, in multiple combinations. I bought a mix of designer and budget friendly items. I love Nordstrom because I believe the company speaks to the adult in me. I want stylish and modern clothing, that is of lux-ish quality. At 32yrs of age, I just cannot deal hassles of inferior feeling clothing; it’s just not worth the cost to me, even if it’s just a basic tee.

I was most excited for the Stuart Weiztman Highland Boots and the Valentino Rockstud Pumps. I’ll save my thoughts on both of these items for another post.
My best finds were the Caslon U-neck tees and the long torso’d BP Scoop Neck Tanks. The Caslon tees were a big hit and thankfully I was able to snag two when they were restocked! Both are excellent staples for any wardrobe. My next fav from the sale would be the LYSSÉ Plus Size High Waist Faux Leather Leggings. I actually bought these in normal sizing, XL, however they run very small and I ended up exchanging it for a size 1X, which came with a noticeably higher price. These body contouring leggings will surely be a hit for me this fall and winter season.
It’s no secret that me and happy hours, brunches, and days parties are best friends. I’m always on the lookout for an easy dress to wear to any of these gatherings. The Free People Monarch Cold Shoulder Minidress (Blue) fit the bill perfectly for such occasions. It’s flowy to hide my love of martinis and yet unique enough to transition from late summer into fall. I went with the blue print just for these reason, but it does come in a lovely pink as well.
